My friend sent me a subscription box from Sago Mini for Dani's 3rd birthday. I have tried different subscription companies in the past and was pleasantly surprised by some and disappointed with others. When we received our box from Sago Mini it was very well packaged, everything was super cute and I loved the colors. If you know me, I love my neutrals! A part from the looks, the activities and items in the box were very well organized. There were enough things for Dani to assemble & also play with afterwards. The quality was also great! I am always looking for products that will last more than a season. The company encourages a lot of pretend play and open ended activities. I love that because Dani got a chance to use her imagination every time she played with the box.
After our subscription was over, I wanted to order more. But sadly the company stopped making the boxes and switched to developing more app games/activities. I usually do not like to download apps for Dani, but Sago Mini has been one that our entire family loves. The app works very similarly to their subscription boxes. Open ended and the child gets to explore the games and figure things out along the way. There is also a parent app that goes along with it and you can see how your child is progressing with the games/activities. The updates are really nice and you can save some of the images that your child creates. They also have a lot of great printables on their website. I will link it below.
The printables include the items that were part of the subscription boxes. I simply print everything out, have the kids color them, laminate and let them play. There are also great exercises for kids to learn simple math and writing. The Gratitude Jar & Boredom Jar are one of my favorite printables to go through with the kids. I am still hoping that the subscription boxes eventually return!
