Fingerprint art is such a fun way to have your child create images. We personally love the book by Ed Emberley. It includes east steps that children can follow in creating characters and animals. I got my daughter the book and a set of dot markers for a trip and she loved it. She ended up creating a story with the thumbprint characters she made.
This type of art can be used to make a fun image on our cards as well! Sometimes simply hand drawing things can get old for kids. Different modes of artwork can encourage children to continue exploring and growing their creativity.
Letter writing idea: have your child create an image and start a story. The recipient can continue the story with a new image. The stories will probably be really simple (one sentence per letter), but it will be a fun way to write to friends back and forth. Building this consistency and a routine will help your child improve writing + develop a good habit.
